Nolan Ryan 2012 & Jose Altuve / Carlos Correa (handshake series) 2017

On November 4, 2017 - I made a trade-in-person agreement with Abel G of Lone Star Bobbleheads.  I have received the Nolan Ryan SGA (5/19/12), Jose Altuve SGA (4/8/17), and Carlos Correa (7/15/17) bobbleheads in great condition with original packaging.  As said in Facebook Group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

Special thanks also to Abel for having patience to wait 2 weeks until we could meet when I returned to town.  And also meeting me halfway!  Hope to trade with you again for future Houston SGA.  And thanks again.

Chris Devenski (game of thrones) 2017

On November 3, 2017 - I made a trade-in-person agreement with Ever R of Lone Star Bobbleheads.  I received the Chris Devenski Game of Thrones Special Event (6/28/17) bobblehead in great condition with original packaging.  As said on Facebook group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

I hope the opportunity presents to make another trade with Ever - the rare premium for premium exchange.  We had a nice brief conversation, and he gave me a canvas bag also with this gigantic size bobblehead,. I did not realize what a monstrosity it is.  So after a quick mtg in the morning around 7:30am, it seemed very bizarre that later that morning at NRG park, I was walking around a NFL game next to Devenski and Orbit - recently exchanging their bobbleheads.  I wouldnt guess if there is any hidden meaning behind that.

Bango (toothbrush holder) (mascot) 2016

On September 7, 2017 - I made a trade-in-person agreement with Scott C of Wisconsin Bobblehead Exchange.  I will be expecting to receive the Bango Mascot Toothbrush Holder SGA (3/12/16) bobblehead.

This is the fourth deal we've made together in the social media age (#1) (#2) (#3), many more from craigslist before this blog was created.

Chris Bosio 2017

On August 25, I made a trade-in-person agreement with Mat M of Bobblehead Addicts.  I have received the Chris Bosio SGA (7/23/17) bobblehead in great condition with original packaging.  As said on Facebook group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

Growing up in Janesville WI being a kid idolizing the Brewers, I have decided to collect the "Beloit Brewers" subset.  So far we figured out there is the BJ Surhoff 2005, Greg Vaughn 2016, and this one Chris Bosio 2017.

On August 20, 2017 - I made a trade-in-person agreement with Brandon Newb of Chicago Bobblehead Collectors.  I was expecting to receive the Jake Taylor Bobble Knees SGA (7/19/14) bobblehead.  I would have never made agreement for postage - on my end to parcel SEVEN (7) Chicago Cubs items for a local swap.

Over the course of two weeks of wasting my time misdirection, he finally reveals that a "meetup was never going to happen" - something he shared with an Admin of the Chicago regional page.  A man is only as good as his word right?  I had tried my own due diligence which included efforts to meet him at his place of work during lunch hour, middle ground, and ultimately his Joliet residence last weekend, he proved to be evasive.  Excuses galore with this guy!  Just scrolling up on the msgs: #1 - I trade with too many people that its not exactly easy for me to remember who I need to contact when I'm going certain places.  #2 - I'm gonna have to reschedule.  Had something come up and won't be in town.  #3 - I've gotten a chance to think about the deal some more and I'm not sure I'm as much of a fan of this trade as I thought I was.

Understanding that the weekdays were tight, I asked his availability on the weekends and again more mystery!  Indeed find out after the fact, he in Chicago at a giveaway game and in Chicago to selling his inventory at a flea market, always pursuing bobbleheads.  Great I live in Chicago.  Finally yesterday he chooses to level with me and offers the explanation that he is not perfect and that he was not neglecting me on purpose.  Now this morning, the reveal of a trade back out:

My conclusion from this experience is that Brandon Newb is NOT G2G.  I had been warned of a reputation of back out behavior, and sure enough when stakes are high it happens.  Even an admin on the Chicago regional page explained he had the same experience, as Brandon backed out of his separate trade.  We had a brief discussion over msgs, he is adamant and predictably defensive but nothing to dispute the fact that we had an agreement and that he backed out.

NOTE - October 13, 2017 - Friday the Thirteenth.  I put the 7 items from this failed trade on the block (which were Chicago Cubs after their playoffs win) and the topic was revisited.  Sadly I got what I deserved: baseless excuses - revisionist history that he made any effort to meet, moot points - make-believe-land that the local transaction should be shipped.  He suggested to "share the blame" for a failed deal which he unilaterally backed out.  I do not understand that one.

Weak Sauce was in denial that I had offered to drive to his residence to complete the deal, but this is untrue - I had exhausted all measures to meet and here is the PM to prove it.  The worst was after he backed out, he explained that he to renegotiate a deal even sweeter than the 7-for-1 Cubs bobbles that he agreed to before.  I conclude that you cannot reason with the unreasonable.

Squints (sandlot the movie) 2017

On August 14, 2017, I made a trade-in-person agreement with Chris W of Bobblehead Addicts.  I have received the Squints Sandlot Movie SGA (8/2/17) bobblehead in great condition with original packaging.  As said on Facebook group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

Ron Dayne 2017

On June 30, 2017 - I made a trade-in-person agreement with Chris J of Bobblehead Addicts.  I have received the Ron Dayne Wisconsin Athletic Hall-of-Fame Giveaway (4/29/17) bobblehead in great condition with original packaging.  As said on Facebook group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

This is the second deal that we have made together (#1).  It was great to visit with Chris and Shane at the game!

On July 9, 2016 - I made an agreement for one-for-one trade in-person with Shane K of Bobblehead Addicts.  I have received the Jeremy Jeffress, Jimmy Nelson, Will Smith, Taylor Jungmann Special Event (7/9/16) Quadruple Bobblehead in great condition with original packaging.  As said on Facebook group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

On June 29, 2016 - I agreed to a two-for-two trade with PJ L.  I have received the Fred Lynn SGA (9/22/15) and Mookie Betts SGA (4/19/16) bobbleheads in great condition with original packaging.  As said in Facebook group, he is Good-to-Go (G2G).

It was great to make PJ acquaintance and chat for a while in the hotel lobby behind Rogers Centre on Canada Day after a 19-inning slugfest.

It was fun this time meeting in line before Troy Tulowitzki bobblehead day as Derrick let me stand in line with him together by a gate in a swarm of humanity.  Nice to have a bit more time to chat this time and next time def bring all my extra looneys / toonies for a Greg Zaun charity bobblehead (if available).

(Dallas Keuchel 2016) - Cancelled

On April 27, 2016 - I agreed to a one-for-one trade with Zack P.  I was expecting to receive the Dallas Keuchel SGA (5/7/16) bobblehead, but this trade has been cancelled.  The explanation was that extras would not be issued at Minute Maid Park.

It was nice to make brief acquaintance and thanks for waiting a moment for us with the group which was clearly ready to leave!  I hope to cross paths again this summer and chat more bobblehead.
